How to play

Flip until you dare not.

93 cards. One run, until the deck is gone or you bust. The same deck for everybody on earth, in the same order.

  1. 01Flip turns a card and adds it to the round. Bank stops and keeps every point.
  2. 02Flip a number you already hold and you have busted. Two 9s will do it. The hand is worth nothing and your run is over.
  3. 03Lay 7 cards in one round and bank them for +20. Get all 12 down and it is +40 more. Bust before you bank and you keep none of it.
  4. 04Everything you bank is kept. There is no round limit — you play until the deck runs out or you bust, so what a bust really costs is every round you never get to play.
93×29

Nine, three, a doubler, then a second nine. Stopping one card earlier: 24 points. Taking it: nothing.

What is in the deck

All 93 of them, and the whole game is knowing what is left. The dots on every card say how many copies exist, so you are never asked to remember this.

Plus 6 wilds, 3 scoring cards and 6 that change a rule. The biggest points are also the likeliest to end you: there are twelve 12s and one 1.

Flip until you dare not

One deck a day. The same deck for everyone on earth, in the same order. One run, no round limit, and one question the whole way down: another card, or bank what you have?

Repeat a number you are holding and the run is over — so everything you bank, you keep, and everything you do not is gone. Your score and everybody else’s differ by exactly one thing. Nerve.

The skill

The Burn Read

Every card that goes is a card that cannot come back. Count what has burned and you know something the deck has told nobody else. It can be learned, the game teaches it, and it is the whole difference between a lucky score and a good one.
